Clicked point
Click a village on the old map to read its coordinates and what the place is called today.
Alignment
Each old map is placed using the latitude and longitude ticks on its border (the 1854–55 and 1911 maps have none, so they are fitted to points along the coast). If places sit slightly off, you can shift or stretch the map that is showing.
Drag the round handle to slide the old map, or a square handle to stretch it. The straight arrows move it a few pixels (zoom in for finer steps); the curved arrows turn it about its centre.
